A lot of people have trouble getting their car to last as long as it should usually resulting from not taking proper care of it. Here are some ways to make your car last longer. Change the oil about every 3,000 miles and always use the proper oil that is recommended in the owner’s manual. Drain the antifreeze and fuel filter every 20,000 miles.
Have your water pump and timing belt replaced when you reach 80,000 miles. Do not wait until the belt breaks because that can cause many problems. Check everything over every 3,000 miles to see if anything needs replacing. Make sure to check your breaks frequently as well.
Do not use any other gasoline other than the manufacturer recommended grade. Make sure you check the pressure of your tires about once a week. Also, about once a year, replace the air filters and check your air conditioning system. Every two years, replace the spark plugs and the PC valve.
Avoid sudden starts and stops, burning rubber, gunning your engine, etc. as these things can cause major damage to your car. Also, refrain from reckless driving and avoid things that may be harmful to your vehicle such as potholes and over-revving your engine. Try to keep a full tank of gas whenever possible to avoid dirt and rust in your fuel tank.
